Cookie Policy
How we use cookies and similar technologies on preconsent.io.
Last updated: February 13, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on preconsent.io (the "Service"), why we use them, and your choices regarding their use. As a pre-consent auditing platform, we hold ourselves to the same standards we help our users enforce.
Our commitment
PreConsent does not use any third-party tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or fingerprinting techniques on our own website. We practice what we preach.
What We Do Not Use
PreConsent does not use any of the following on our own website:
- Google Analytics or any third-party analytics cookies
- Facebook Pixel, Meta tracking, or any advertising pixels
- DoubleClick, Google Ads, or any retargeting cookies
- Hotjar, Clarity, or any session recording tools
- Browser fingerprinting techniques (canvas, WebGL, AudioContext)
- Cross-site tracking or third-party data sharing cookies
We believe a pre-consent auditing platform must lead by example. If we detect any of these techniques on other websites, we certainly should not employ them ourselves.
Local Storage and Session Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage to persist your authentication state across page reloads. This data is:
- First-party only (preconsent.io)
- Used exclusively for authentication and session management
- Cleared when you sign out
- Not shared with any third parties
Your Choices
Since we only use strictly necessary cookies, there is no cookie consent banner on preconsent.io. Essential cookies are exempt from consent requirements under GDPR Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, UK PECR Regulation 6, and CPRA.
You can still manage cookies through your browser settings:
- Block all cookies: You can configure your browser to block all cookies, but this will prevent you from signing in to the Service.
- Delete cookies: You can delete existing cookies at any time through your browser settings.
Do Not Track Signals
PreConsent respects Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. Since we do not employ any tracking technologies, there is no tracking behavior to disable in response to DNT headers.
